My online psychotherapy practice aims to serve individuals seeking a warm and skilled clinician that they can connect with culturally and ethnically. My goal is to provide an authentic and non-judgmental experience from which we both emerge with clarity, hope, and healing.
I am licensed to practice in the states of Connecticut, New York, and Maryland. I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a Certified Telemental health provider, and a Certified Problem-Solving Treatment Therapist with over ten years experience in mental health services.
Being a West African immigrant provides me a unique insight into the challenges that Black and African immigrant population face which feeds their hesitance with engaging in therapy. My mission was born when I learned during graduate school that what I experienced earlier in college was a brief depressive episode which went undiagnosed and untreated. Since then, I have been nurturing my passion for culturally-appropriate evidence-based interventions for my population of interest. My interests include trauma research, neuroscience in psychotherapy, outreach, dispelling stigma within this minoritized population, and acculturation challenges facing immigrant and 1st-generation Americans of African origin.
